Some things I have seen in the Pre-Season:

Brassard looks like he wants to prove he is still a NHL player, been impressed with him so far.

Koivula has stood out to me as ready to play in the NHL this year. There is no spot for him now, but he should be the first call up for them.

Barzal and Eberle look to be in sync and ready to go.

I want Kuhnhackl next to Nelson and Bailey but I think it'll play out as 27-13-7, 18-29-12, 28-10-47 (annoying), and ofc the fourth line. I don't really think Trotz likes JHS even tho he and Brassard would be nice together. Maybe by December or something

Cmon man you know kuhnhackl isn’t a top 6 player, he has the skill set of a 4th liner

Also I remember trotz saying last season something along the lines of “ if he keeps playing like that it’s going to be hard to send him back down” regarding Ho-sang. I think he favors vets but this team needs “pop” like he said after the loss to the canes. Ho-sang brings that

I think Otto makes the team before Wahlstrom. I would like to see lines like this:

    Lee - Barzal - Ebs
    Nelson - Otto - Bailey
    Beau - Brass - JHS
    TBFLIH

    Pel - Pul
    Toews - May
    Leddy - Dobs

Trotz loves Kuhnhackl. Also, while maybe he isn’t a top sixer, he didn’t look out of place at all in that spot last season, especially in the playoffs. Looked really good actually

You’re right, the 1st rd against Pittsburgh he played well and he was invisible in rd 2. The islanders can’t afford to have him in the top 6 when the team already struggles to score goals . 5 goals total in 4 games against Carolina
