It assumes Nieves clears waivers & I saw someone post the Rangers signed Michael Haley so I signed him 1yr $750000.
also it appears as though the NYR's are only going with a 22 man roster to start. I know most people will disagree but since last season I think Having Brendon Smith's versatility is going to be a BIG + for this team going forward.
A note to remember about Kratsov being sent down. The Rangers only play 3 games in 2 weeks to start the season. Sending him down now gives him more time to adjust to the North American game,
Trust me. Unless he is atrocious in the AHL for two weeks. he'll be doing the Hartford to NY shuttle.
I am a huge Filip Chytil fan. I still see him becoming a really good NHL player. With that said, I'm ok with Chytil going to Hartford. He'll be The #1 Center which hopefully will speed up his progress. He's still a kid. With this move it takes him out of the limelight and will help him discover what type of player he's going to be.
I also have, not so much doubts, but a need to see more of Brendan Lemieux until I'm sold on him in the top 9. Especially with Kratsov in Hartford.
I think a checking line of Brendan Lemieux, Lias Andersson, and Vladislav Namestnikov could drive other teams nuts and would be fun to watch.
Speaking of Lias Andersson did he rise to the occasion or what?
The special teams are pretty easy. The 1st unit is going to get the lions share of minutes, and the 2nd unit aint to bad either
I have DeA on the 2nd unit over Fox only because of his experience.
The PK units are a little harder because they only give you 2 units, when in fact most teams use at least 3.
MY 3 PK FWD Lines
Zib - Namestrkov
Anderson - Fast
Strome - Howden

I would just leave the D pairings as is.
Maybe I would work Smith in if needed.

My opinion on how to handle the goaltending situation is that Hank and Georgeiv should alternate starts. Obviosly a straight
41-41 split is very unlikly but there is no way Hank should have more then 45-50 starts.

Anyway this should be a fun season.
Prediction: Fight for a Wildcard but fall just short

Lots of disappointment expressed today regarding Chytl and Krav going down, while Haley remains...I think many of the thoughts regarding Chytl and Krav are a bit misguided- fact is Chytl showed he is not ready for 2C and I don't think playing 4C will help him as much as big minutes in Hartford. Krav looks to have a bright future- but he needs a little more acclimation to the North American game. Both should be back by Thanksgiving- unless they unexpectedly struggle in Hartford. Haley surviving is a bit more difficult to swallow...not exactly sure what the organization's reasoning is- but it certainly does bring criticism to the organization which has gone back decades...similar to "same old Jets"

As far as your lineup- put McKegg in for Smith- who should remain 7D/14F (or maybe 13F considering Haley is on board)

And Howden better produce...he's already taking criticism- a bad start by him will not go un-noticed by the many naysayers who (for good reason) sense a bromance between him and DQ.

Thanks for the input. I agree with the disappointment about Chytil but with Hartford now being run as a development tool, with people on the same page as Coach Quinn I think it will help the organization
I also agree with you about Howden. Last year I think people got so sucked in with his great start they were blind to how awful he was. I not picking on the kid, I just thought he wasn't ready. Quite frankly I think it wouldn't hurt for him to start the season in Hartford.

I originally had McKegg in my lineup but I swaped him out for Smith.
1) because we have two rookies on Defense and If one of them is having a bad night (Like if DQ needs to bench someone)
2 If a D-man takes a penalty Smith could drop back for the PK
and 3) If a d-man gets hurt in a game smith could drop back.

Last year when Pionk was Mr Norris and DeA was stuck in Street Cloths I said the Rangers should move him to RW on the 4th line. He was clearly better then some of the forwards he had. I told a friend that Pionk was playing way over his head and if DeA was given the same opportunity he would prove to be the much better player.

Again thanks for the feedback.
LETS GO RANGERS
