Not saying they wan't him back at all just saying with one year left and a chance to get Georgiev at a lesser cost because of that I think it would be worth it worst case scenario (or maybe best case lol) they bury him in the AHL for the year

It will take more the 3rd or 4th best goalie on NYRs roster to get them to take him back. Now Shestyorkin might get Detroit to take Smith back but that is probably to much for NYR so I think its safe to say Smith won't be wearing the Winged Wheel again.

At this stage of his career and at this point in time, he is the best goalie on the NYR roster.

So your saying Georgiev is the best goalie not the Rangers roster? Then getting NYR to give up Shestyorkin should be no problem and switch the 2020 2nd to 2021 3rd from Vegas.

You are way way off in your value. Shestyorkin is not on the roster he is in the AHL. By all regards he is the goalie of the future with the most potential and is therefore untounchable. The package for Georgiev resembles what the Rangers got for Cam Talbot in 2014, which is much more comparable.

He actually is on the roster if he wasn't on the roster he would be on the reserve list. But I do know the value is off I mentioned it in my first post when I said NYR probably wouldn't give up that much for him so Smith won't be wearing a Winged Wheel any time soon. Smith was traded for a reason he has no impulse control he wants to fight every around him so it would take a lot to get Detroit to take him back and Georgiev isn't enough.
