id rather pay 6 million for a backup goalie than 6.9 (nice) for a healthy scratch forward. both being bought out seems more likely.

schneider is a great guy, despite his struggles. NJD would rather the locker room presence even if not a starter anymore.

That being said, I'm still not sold the front office or coaches think he's done in the nhl. I'm obviously hopeful he figures it out because I can't continue watching this, but I've never honestly been that high on him Even when he was great, he never felt timely and seemed to always let in daggers

In actual money being paid out Eriksson is owed $13 Mil. for 3 yrs where as Cory is $18 over the last 3 so it wouldn't make sense for Van to do that even with Devils retaining salary.
