I'm not sure if VAN would go for that trade. Tanev is a legitimate top-pairing Dman who is still young and signed for a relatively team-friendly contract. With what Tyson Barrie would cost, I don't see any way the Canucks would throw in Virtanen to that trade if they ended up deciding to swap the defensive-focused Tanev for the more offensive-minded Barrie.
