Assuming New Jerseys losing continues and they want to start a rebuild (And Vatanen isn't injured). Leafs get a D to play with Reilly and a back up while NJ gets a young asset in Kapanen as well as roster fillers for this year and a draft pick.

I am honestly not sure how this is an upgrade over what the Leafs are giving up. Vantanen is not an upgrade over Barrie, and Ceci at least offers better defense then either of them. Leafs could have surely had Domingue for a 7th rounder, according to what NJ gave up to Tampa, if I remember correctly. And Miles Wood, I just don't see the Leafs real need for a bottom 6 winger doesn't really offer an upgrade over Kapanen, who, alone, would be a lot to give up.
