Maybe Berdin would be the better target...

Berdin?
Just to confirm so that everyone is aware ...
Josh Anderson:
- Has
4 points (1 goal) in 24 games this season
- That's a 13 point (3 goal) pace in a full season
- Has the second worst plus/minus on his team
- The season is nearly half over (this isn't an aberration)
- Is a year older than Johnsson (was drafted a year prior)
- Has a worse point per game career average than Johnsson
- Has a worse goal per game career average than Johnsson
- Is an RFA this year (after already taking a cheap 3-Yr bridge)
- Is right handed W (so is Marner, Nylander, Kapanen, Hyman)
- Is not playing like his typical power forward self this year
How does Anderson cost Johnsson + 4th round pick + 6th round pick?
- Johnsson has more potential (has only played 1 season while Anderson's played 5)
- Johnsson had a higher PPG in his rookie season than Anderson's has ever had.
- Johnsson is currently on pace to beat Anderson's career best PPG again.
- Johnsson is locked-in for 4 years at a pretty good cap hit vs production.
- Johnsson will likely have a lower cap-hit than Anderson next year.
Why are the Leafs adding?
Laurent Brossoit:
- Has an
0.892 SV% after 9 games this season (similar to Hutchinson)
- Has a cap-hit that's roughly double Hutchinson (do we have space?)
- Has cleared waivers multiple times since 2018-19
- Is a UFA at the end of the season (likely a rental)
If Hutch has no value ... why does Brossoit cost a 3rd round pick + 2nd round prospect?
He shouldn't cost any more than a 4th round pick (similar to what Hutchinson cost).
