Description

Actual NHL teams never sell a third of their roster in a season: see if you can fix your team in two trades or less. You can send down or recall as many players as you please.

Targeted Edmonton's need for more scoring: it's been evident for three seasons now that Edmonton is in some dire need for scoring from their bottom-six. Galch and Staal aren't "make this team a contender overnight" kinds of acquisitions, but it makes them better today for a relatively minimal cost. Gagner's current production numbers and Neal's powerplay utility led me to look for an upgrade on LW as opposed to RW (Edmonton has neither right now). If Pittsburgh is serious about ridding themselves of Galchenyuk, the Oilers need to be first in line to acquire him: his shooting percentage is through the basement but his on-ice production numbers aren't awful.

Not unless Koskinen was going back, just to make the cap work.

yeah makes sense i just think Edmonton has a chance at the cup and if they had hank he might finally get one sadly the rangers wouldnt be able to take koskinen back

Colorado could both afford him and run him in tandem with Grubauer, and I'd argue they're closer than Edmonton.

Nicely done. I don't think Staal costs you JP AND a 2nd, and I'm not convinced he's a great target for shutdown center anyhow. He used to be, but those days have passed. I'd rather target Pageau with that package.

If Pageau came with a guaranteed extension in the $4M range I'd make that deal in a heartbeat. Went for Staal strictly for his GF rates and term.
