Retooling is key

Description
I've never been that good at trades, but I think these might make sense or have a good base to start some talks. Jets, Avs, Yotes and Oilers fans, feel free to tell me what I got wrong or right, where I should add or remove pieces, etc.

I think overall, all moves benefits every teams in some way.
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Capobianco, Kyle
  2. Stepan, Derek
Additional Details:
Although Capobianco is a more than decent LHD prospect, the left side of the Coyotes is crowded as of rn with OEL, Chychrun and Goligoski. Trading him allows them to get rid of Stepan contract, since he's def. not worth 6.5M rn. They save on cash, which allows them to negociate a contract for Hall. Byron adds a much needed depth at LW, since ARZ depth at LW is pretty thin.
ARI
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. Olofsson, Gustav
Additional Details:
Olofsson can replace Capobianco in the AHL, while he also has upside to be a depth/6th d at best. Byron adds depth at LW for Arizona, and can be traded easily for a pick somewhere if they need more capspace. I think Capobianco is the best/most interesting player of the bunch, but getting rid of Stepan's contract should be worth it.
2.
MTL
  1. Jost, Tyson
  2. 2020 5th round pick (COL)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Jost contract is up at the end of the season, and he's been struggling a bit to find his role with Colorado. A change of scenery might be very beneficial for him.
COL
  1. Tatar, Tomas
Additional Details:
Tatar is having himself a carreer year and is on pace to get 30 goals. Colorado could use some better secondary scoring, which is exactly what Tatar would bring. He would also fit extremely well in the team structure.
3.
MTL
  1. 2021 4th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
EDM is in dire need of depth at the wing, and Jordan Weal can be a good 3rd line winger for them for a small price. The move has to be made at the deadline in order to work capwise
EDM
  1. Weal, Jordan
Additional Details:
Weal is a decent player, but not needed on MTL roster after these trades.
4.
MTL
  1. Ehlers, Nikolaj
  2. Kulikov, Dmitry
Additional Details:
It's been said a lot of times that the Jets want to make room on their cap, and Ehlers is always the name that comes up. Kulikov has been injured more often than not during his tenure in Winnipeg, and his contract being substracted allows the Jets to proceed to more trades to add pieces for the playoffs. Petry adresses the dire need of Winnipeg to get a good RHD who can crunch minutes.
WPG
  1. Hudon, Charles
  2. Petry, Jeff
  3. Reilly, Mike
  4. 2020 4th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Trading Petry leaves a hole in the habs defensive corps, but that's the price to pay to get a top line winger, and habs have a lot of young RHD who should be ready in the next few years to step up and take Petry's minutes. Reilly adds depth to the Jets defensive corps, while Hudon could thrive on a new team. I think Ehlers value is about the same as Petry, hence why I added not that much to this trade.

Don't see why Montreal would make any of those trades except the last one.

Habs immediate need is a top 4 level LD ... this would make their need to be two top 4 D.

dont see the draw on Tatar for the Avs. He won't playing the Top 6....wont be taking Donskoi and Burakovsky spot. Trade is fair but its a bit pointless for the avs

Jost hasn’t shown much promise. Him and a 2nd basically for Tatar, who had 58 points last year and is 35th in points in this year. He would be in your top 6.

Donskoi and Burakovsky have the simliar production as Tatar this year, hes not really an upgrade, just more of the same. Really just a lateral move and plus you really dont know how he fits with Kadri.

Dont see the value of adding him, thats my point.

That's a fair point. Avs would be looking at a forward with more high-end skill then I guess?
