I think so too, though Ranger fans will be saying it's an underpayment. They're looking for a return just short of what Hall hauled... a lot of them want a first included apparently, which I think is crazy, but hey, you never know...

They're looking for like half of the Hall trade, not the Hall trade. As a neutral fan, I think the offer is pretty fair overall.

As a Ranger fan, seems fair. No issues with it from me

Feel like we just need first and a guy mid level prospect. If I’m SJ I’m not trading Sasha.

Pretty sure a team with a 4% chance of making the playoffs should not be buying a rental

It's a difficult place to be in if you're Doug Wilson... you've gone all in for this year with those contracts and really can't afford to tank even if you wanted to without your 1st rounder... but at the same time now only have a 4% chance at making.

But on the other hand you're only 7pts out of a playoff spot and the Blues were in a very similar place last season and went on to win the cup so half a season left to get into a playoff spot is actually not too far-fetched, especially if another move or two is made to help out the roster.

But back to that first hand, Sharks have 16 of their next 24 games on the road....

I think Wilson will have a clearer picture of where this team's at and what needs to be done when we get to the All-Star break.

Certainly, its hard to bet against the sharks even with how theyve done this season. On the other hand no GM should ever look at the Blues last year and say "yeah we got this" but instead say "hey there is still a chance." What St. Louis did was near impossible and was a total outlier on normality. Ita a horrible example on what a team should expect. IMO San Jose should hold out on doing anything drastic like Columbus did until much closer to the deadline then reassess things
