Description

Mike Green is my short term solution to the RHD replacement. He historically has a great CF% and has only recently declined on a horrible DET team. I think he can play a good two-way role on the team paired with Rielly. He put up 5 goals and 26 points in 43 games last year showing he is still has his offensive edge. He can eat 20+ minutes a night on a top pairing.

Based on comparable I think a 2 year $5M AAV deal is fair using Edler and Straalman as comparable contracts. At this term he will be expired by the time Rielly needs an extension in 2 years.

what the ****....

maybe mike green isn’t as bad as everyone says, etc. etc. But why the hell would you give him 5 million per year? For two years?? He could be a PTO guy next year. And why would you not just sign hamonic or muzzin for that kind of money if you are going to go after a ufa?

Green has stated that he wants to retire a Red Wing, Plus with his health issues i doubt he has 2 more seasons left in him. The way he's looked lately he's finished. Pretty sure he calls it quits after this season.

Inthink ur bang on with the Dermott money 2mill is where i have him. Alot of people have him over 3 mill with a little term. Im not sure why. Maybe people including myself love the idea of him being a 3 million dollar defenceman for the leafs but the fact is he doesnt play big mins and doesnt get pts. YET anyways
