Leafs cant make that deal without moving out Ceci first, and is Edmundson even an upgrade over Ceci?

Edmundson is definitely an upgrade over Ceci, but Edmundson is a LHD and Toronto already has a bunch of those that Eddy wouldn't necessarily be an upgrade for. He's basically Jake Muzzin-lite. Toronto needs to move Ceci and somehow get back a very good RHD.

I dont think he is, and like I said... even if he its not worth attaching an asset to move Ceci and then give another asset to get Edmundson.

Well your the first person in here to propose a Hertl trade that I would have to think about. This deal is good but i would probably look for someone offering a top 20 prospect if I could for Hertl as trading him is a serious problem for the team so I’d rather get a guy that will pan out for sure than take risks.

Leafs decline, of course, but don't sell Edmundson so short, he's a third pairing guy at worst and played top four a good chunk of the time on a stanley cup champion, and is cheaper than Ceci. The biggest issue is that he doesn't really fill the role that the Leafs need. Ceci doesn't fill that role either due to his cap hit and play, but you can't replace one ineffective solution with another, especially, as you said, if you are attaching assets to do the replacement.
