1.) Why trade Fleury for Niemii just to bury him?
2.) Who is your Expansion Draft casualty? Sheary?

It's really hard to gauge 17-18 until we're a lot closer to the Expansion draft. If players are allowed to waive their NMCs and be selected by Vegas I'd expect Fleury would be gone at the Expansion Draft. Either from Vegas choosing him or from a trade to another team that lost a goalie to expansion.

When I made the trade, it still put Niemi on the active roster.. He's a UFA next offseason so just threw him down - didn't realize the code counted some of his salary against the cap.

I guess I didn't fully factor in the expansion draft.. Just wanted to gauge where the Pens could be at... If Sheary re-signs I suppose he's the possible casualty, but like you said tough to get a bearing there. 8/3/1 formula could mean 1 of either Cole/Pouliot/Wilson
