I'm a big fan of bringing in Turris for this team, but I'd rather do something around Ladd, Dal Colle, and a 2nd for Turris with no salary retention on either side. Not really interested in moving Boychuk.

A one-for-one, on the other hand, could be very interesting. Boychuk has been a great Islander, but Turris would make our team better. I'd wait until the off-season to do that though. Agreed that Tolvanen does not need to be involved. Neither does salary retention.

Turris sucks this year, so why would the Isles trade for him in the first place?

Two reasons.

1) NYI center depth in the organization is terrible. Having a depth chart of Barzal-Nelson-Turris/Brassard-Cizikas is pretty freaking good.
2) I'm a firm believer that it sometimes just doesn't work out with a team and a player. No particular reason, it just doesn't work. Turris has shown success in his NHL career, and I think it's possible he can go back to his Ottawa form if he's in the right situation.
