I dont know what you were trying to accomplish here, but your team is way over the cap, and has a good 9 players who will be protected: Varlamov, Demers,Fowler,Brodin, Methot,Hansen, Shaw,Killorn,McGinn and most likely a few more.

Go make an expansion draft yourself and you'll see that there are some good players available. As for the cap, it's because there has to be 1player per team that is drafted.

Btw, I think that Colorado protects Pickard because he's a lot cheaper and is solid. And Tampa can't protect Killorn because they have callahan and filpulla with NMCs and the 5 other forwards protected will probably be stamkos, palat, kucherov, johnson and Drouin.

It's not like he picked Nash, Moulson, ect to eat up cap space. I don't get the D. Brown pick too much $ for too long, and AHL lifer might be better choice.
