Because of the fact that SJS needs to pay to get Vlasic off their hands

And

Tatar Danault Gallagher are not being split up
Barrie wants 8 million so
Kovalchuk will get 2+ million

I hope he stays for another year, but it would be an enormous insult to Kovalchuk to offer him $700k while carrying almost $3.5M in open cap space.

I am with everyone else in saying the Vlasic trade is totally insane. Doug Wilson would pay the Habs to take him and even chip in the moving expenses.

I don't think much of paying Barrie that much. If you're going that route, skip the Vlasic deal and just pay Pietrangelo whatever he wants.

Who's side are you on?
The goal should be to improve the Habs, short term or long turn-but improve.
