The Wisniewski signing seems bizarre since that gives 8 NHL ready d-men. I figure with the Jets depth at forward they may look to upgrade goaltending too

Can't upgrade they net. They have 4 valuable goalies right now. 3 are NHL ready while another is getting close.

I'm comfortable with Hellebuyck, Hutchinson and Comrie in net. Jets will need a year or two to harden this line-up so they may as well have their blue chip goaltending prospects seeing a lot of rubber. The thinking behind the Wisnewski signing was simply that I haven't seen many teams talking about the guy and he put up great numbers in his last full season. Veteran presence on a team filled with youth.

I did the other side of your trade for the Wings; it's pretty tight cap-wise. Would you take Nyquist rather than Tatar to make the $$ work?

CAP wise, its pretty close. $2.75 for Tatar and Smith each. That is the $5.5 that Trouba signs for. Mantha lowers the Wings CAP by another $800k... But to your point. id rather dump Nyquist and open up another $3M so Detroit has more room for Dekeyser and Mrazek. Nyquist and Tatar are very similar players and its hard to really keep both at this point in time.

This exactly. Also there's no slack if someone get's hurt and doesn't go on LTIR.
