Probably have to give a pick or a better prospect that SDA to land the Minnesota deal.... gets Leafs a dominant blue line the likes of which the last few cup teams have trotted out. Adds a bit of muscle but doesn’t sacrifice the speed and skill. Adds another cup winner in Staal. Forces Dubas to be able to
Admit he got the Kadri trade wrong, not bad players, just not the right fit for this team and all it’s puzzle pieces.

Drop staal and SDA and a 3rd

Drop the picks from CGY trade as kap has more value than hamonic

Third trade is fair.

I think these trades are pretty close, and as a Leafs fan I don't hate them. I just don't think Dubas is willing to turn over so much of the roster at the deadline. Staal and Hamonic are rentals and I am not sure those fit the mold of what he wants to do.

With all the injuries they’ve had, the turnover has been real all season. Staal also has another year left on his deal and adds a clutch proven playoff performer and winner, which Dubas has shown he values. Also feel like we need an upgrade at 3C bc Kerfoot and Engvall look better as wingers.
