We should be able to get a 1st + prospect from someone so I wouldn't take it unless we got that due to Saad's play for the team.

Likely between 22-31 so I think it depends on the prospect.

I don’t think you understand the meaning of “selling”
We have no other ideal assets we’d trade

What I'm saying is that we shouldn't be doing a fire sale. Saad isn't a UFA, so there is no impetus to trade him at the moment unless a really good deal presents itself, which this is not. What Bowman should be doing is trading the UFA's (Gus and Crow) and getting back a top 4 defenseman and/or picks/prospects. This team is on the upswing, and I think Saad is more valuable to its future than a late 1st.

I guess, but if I’m bowman I keep crow and let him retire
Try to trade maatta (that trade was stupid)
Try to get a defenseman that’s locked up on a good contract for Gus
And call up beaudin next year

Maatta > Beaudin, at least this year and probably next, so I think that, if we do trade him, it should be this summer. It will all depend on the future of De Haan/Seabs.

Don’t know what drugs you’re on, but I can tell you I’d rather have a rock than Maatta

What? Maatta obviously hasn't been our best defenseman, but he has been solid, especially more recently, and he has been playing with a rotating cast of 7th defenseman. He's definitely slow, but he has consistently good positioning, not to mention Stanley Cup experience. Definitely better than Beaudin, who is doing very little in the AHL.

He seems like he lacks.... a LOT
Sometimes it looks like he’s having a brain malfunction on the ice

He definitely isn't perfect, but he is definitely better than your original assessment.

Don’t like him, don’t hate him. Just think he’s better than any other option we have.

I gotta say I agree with Petrock, he has been particularly good recently on a line with Koekkoek (your namesake).

Not saying he is not tradable at any stretch I just don't think we move him right now, he has a relatively low buyout so risk is negligent and his ability is not all that bad, good stay at home defencemen who can block shots.

I do however understand the scenario of this ACGM as us being sellers so can understand selling him though would only do so before TDL if we get an offer we can't refuse. 3rd or better (i.e. a prospect or part of a package)
