Like the Campbell deal but certainly not giving up that 2nd round pick to acquire DeMelo who is not needed.

This is my opinion only but I do not think that the Leafs actually need to acquire a defenceman and give up additional assets because of the emergence of the Sandman into the line-up. Sandin in my opinion only was the best defenceman outside the NHL prior to his call up by the Leafs. The Leafs can also call up Liljegren from the Marlies if needed. I anticipate that the Leafs are now going to try to sign Muzzin on a 4 to 5 year contract at approximately $5,000,000 per year prior to the trade deadline.

Kings aren't trading Campbell for that. He has contract for another 2.5 years. So why do you think DeMelo is so good that he can replace Ceci, who is probably the Leafs best defensive Dman? Not that I wouldn't mind having another NHL Dman for a playoff run, but it should be better than what the Leafs have now, if he replaces a player.

Could the Leafs simply keep Rielly in LTR until end of season and then bring him back after season for playoffs to stay under Cap?

What expect the Kings would want at least one good prospect and more for an NHL goalie. Is Campbell going to make that much difference to the Leafs who will live/die by Andersson? Hutchinson has been fine in last five? outings.
With Reilly the Leafs have eight NHL Dmen. So what's the point of adding another when he can't replace any of current top 3 RHD. I'm not sure the Leafs have to acquire any Dman...another more than other 26 teams that are in the playoff hunt
