nope, he's a third liner, doesnt matter what he's done before. You should trade him for Georgiev. Your rules. only 12 goals while playing between the 2nd and 3rd line? a real 2nd liner would be a lot better than that.

Yup, he's on the 3rd line and on pace for 20 goals and 58 points...a real 3rd liner that makes Kap look like a AHL player laugh

Do you want to compare career stats between the NHL player and AHL player?

no dude, this isnt how it works, you cant simply set some rules and then flaunt them when it suits your argument. You stated that Kapanen is a 3rd liner because he's producing like one, Debrinecat has 2 more goals and 7 more total points playing on the 2nd line for a significant portion of the year. A not significant gap in production while getting more offensive opportunities.
Debrineat averages almost 2 and a half more power play minutes a game and has 11 power play points to Kapanen's 0.

You already stated Debrinecat is on the 2nd liner but now he's on the third line? which is it? I mean, he has the third most icetime out of any Blackhawks forward while Kapanen is 7th on the Leafs. Looks like one guy is actually on the third line and one guy is on the 1st line, or at least getting 1st line ice time.

so, either Debrinecat is a 3rd liner getting 1st line minutes and Kapanen is a 2nd liner getting 3rd line minutes, or goal scoring and production in general is a simplistic and bad way to judge which line a player is on and it makes you look foolish when you assume based upon your ability to divide goal totals by games played.

LMAO you're bringing up Cat which is moronic if you want to compare Kap and Cat. Go ahead and compare the two...please...you'll just prove my point further.

And Cat is indeed playing on the 3rd line a ton also. Let's also keep in mind, even with Cat outscoring Kap by a huge margin, he plays next to Strome and Anisimov before that....not exactly Matthews or Tavares.

Yes, Cat IS playing on the 3rd line because of a lack of production...a lack of production that still has him outpacing Kap by 3.2 goals and 58 points. LOL Dude, you are such a homer to even bring up Cat in a comparison to Kap...stupid laugh

actually, you brought up Debrinecat, i was simply pointing out that Debrinecat is barely out pacing Kapanen by 2 goals and 7 total points while getting hilariously more ice time and power play time.
And if playing with Anisimov and Strome is such a hindrance, how about guys like Engvall or Kerfoot, or trevor moore? Not exactly Tavares or Matthews either.

someone is a homer here, and it isnt me

LMAO Kerfoot and Engvall are better then Anisimov the last few years. And I brought up Saad, Cat, Kane and Kubalik as an example of Kap not being able to supplant most top 6 wingers given the hawks are a middling team. YOU'RE the on one that made the dumb decision to try to compare Kap and Cat! popcorn

Did the Sens just go the distance with the Leafs! LMAO Must have been because Kap was in the pressbox because he couldn't get his lazy ass out of bed to make the team breakfast

Now you're spinning in circles. Yes, i know why you brought up debrinecat, and i used you bringing him up as s a guy who Kapanen couldnt supplant to point out that this year, despite the incredible opportunity advantage Debrinecat has been given this year, he is barely out scoring him.
You will also note that i never said that Kapanen was better than Debrinecat, just that by your own criteria, Debrinecat was a 3rd liner and by proxy, your criteria for a 3rd liner is dumb. But that clearly went over your head, it really isnt a hard concept to grasp, but here we are.

So, to bring things full circle, Kapanen is a 2nd liner, 16 goal pace or not, because judging a player's skill level by a 16 goal pace just over half way into a season is what people who dont understand context do.

LMAO incredible opportunity Cat has received? He's playing between 2nd/3rd line all season...that is a FACT! Why are you comparing Kap and Cat? What are you trying to say? Cat is CLEARLY the better player and even having a crap year like he is, he's still outpacing Kap! And you want to talk about who Cat has been playing next to? Well Strome was out 11 games out of 50 (20% of the time) and even before Strome was out Cat spent a significant time next to David Kampf and Carpenter...so do your homework before you type up a response. Are you going to argue Kerfoot or Engvall are worse then Kampf or Carpentar now?

No, Kap is a middle 6 player...a good 3rd liner and a filler for the 2nd line. Nothing you have said changes that, you're only looking like a homer at this point trying to compare Cat and Kap. How about this, let's compare Kubalik and W Nylander...how about that?

good lord, I have already told you about the oppertunites Debrinecat is getting over Kapanen. like 3 times. He is 3rd in blackhawks forward ice time. That's 1st line minutes, Less than only Kane and Toews.
Kapanen is 7th on the leafs, thats 3rd line ice time. In fact, Debrinecat has already almost been on the ice for 100 more minutes this season than Kapanen.
And as previously stated Debrinecat is getting fed cherry power play time, 2 and a half minutes more per game! to put that into context, most top power play forwards average 3 mins total a game.
and all the time barely outscoring Kapanen.
So, if one is a 2nd liner, the other is too.
and right now, they both are! crazy!

yes, all the people with common sense think that 2 more goals and 7 more points over 50 games while getting top power play time and 1st line mins is vastly outscoring the other guy.

8 more points but YES, because of this...
Cat - 3 seasons - 215 games - 81 goals, 163 points (.38gpg, .76ppg)
Kap - 5 seasons - 184 games - 38 goals, 82 points (.20gpg, .44ppg)

Kap is middle 6 winger, a good 3rd liner and 2nd line filler; Enough Said...ciao kid

oh, so now it isnt just about this season? funny how the goalposts move when you get proven wrong. So! if other seasons are relevant again, than Kapanen is a 20 goal scorer and he's a 2nd liner. thanks for your time.
