I actually think with Eichel and Cozens as your long term 1 and 2, Perfetti or Holtz would be a good target. A great goal scoring winger so your lines would probably look something like
Olofsson - Eichel - Skinner
Perfetti - Cozens - Reinhart
Actually now that im looking at it, getting a playmaking winger like Raymond would be solid as well. Point is, unless he is the consensus best player available, I think you guys should target a winger

I see it looking like this:
1)Laf
2) Byfield

3-4 ) Stutzle, Drysdale depending on whos picking
5-7) Holtz, Raymond, Rossi also depends on whos picking and team needs.
8-11) Perfetti, Lundell, Askarov, Holloway also depends on whos picking

I could see Perfetti sneaking into the tier above but yeah that probably sums it up. I think it would be wild for Ottawa to end up getting Holtz and Raymond, basically the next sedin twins

If one of them played centre, that would be an easy choice.

I’d rather just keep loading up on centers. It’s a such a big hole with the immediate club right now that it needs to be addressed for this team to get out of purgatory. It’s pretty bad when the center Jeff Skinner has the most success playing with outside of Eichel is Johan Larsson.

Plus you never know if Cozens or Mittelstadt’s best position ends up being center at the NHL level there’s always that possibility as well.

I mean the assumption is that these guys would all be fine moving to wing, but I feel like you would have more success with a pure winger than have to wait for a transitional year. Either way I think Best Player Available is always the right move, regardless of position

A lot of times though, the fit isn’t there to play center at the NHL level. Especially if you’re struggling at the pro level.

don’t know many players who have shifted from wing to center but I know many who have shifted from center at the lower levels to wing in the NHL, Jeff Skinner and Sam Reinhart being a couple of of them. I wouldn’t be surprised if Casey Mittelstadt ends on the wing down the road

Finding a top six centerman is the hardest thing to find in the NHL
