I can't see the Habs selling Kovalchuk for less than a 2nd round pick and even then when you see how loved Kovalchuk is in Montreal, you wonder if they will trade him.
I think Mtl can get a bit more for Scandella especially retained, and Tatar can fetch us a 1st + good prospect.

I get it, but he's loving it in Montreal, there was a snow storm not long ago in Montreal and he decided to take his 2 sons to go play outside in a rink. I think he would be down to sign for a year. We could maybe do a Plekanec type of move, trade him at the deadline, get him back as UFA next season. But i really don't think the habs will trade him for less than a 2.
