I understand that they want him on a bridge deal, but (and maybe I'm wrong) he doesn't have to take it. I'm just wondering why is he holding out for so much (i heard it was a 5AAV) if he likes it there? I'm sure they'll end up settling but is he a guy we could start to see in the trade rumors? Further this goes on the harder it could be (if he's firm set on that number of 5AAV).

we could start seeing him in trade rumors for sure, we already have heard of rumors, although bad ones, of Edmonton showing interest in trading Nugent Hopkins for him. Dorion promised to the media though that he and Hoffman will play for the sens come October 12 against the maple leafs. Ottawa is just trying to get the cheapest deal possible, but it will be resolved soon hopefully

I don't often say this Zbaddest, but I think you're undervaluing the OTT players in the EDM trade. Most of the things I read is the BEST offer Chiarelli got for Yak is a 3rd rounder. Dzingel is worth more than that.
