Barrie isn't accepting that, sorry to tell you buddy. Perhaps if you trade Duchene for someone with less cap hit, then you can probably give Barrie the 6+ that the arbitration will award him.

Barrie will not be getting over $6MM in arb. More like $4.75MM-$5.25MM. Revisit this on Friday.

I think both Grimaldi and Greer play the full year in the A, with Compher being the first call up. I'd certainly like to see Compher earn a spot out of camp. I would expect Martinsen to be up all year since he's on a one-way deal, but it's a cheap one at least.

On the back-end I've heard that Bigras will likely start in the A to get top pairing minutes. If he can legitimately win a top 4 role with the big team then by all means, leave him there.

Barrie will definitely not sign a 5-year deal at $5MM. That would get him his $6MM, but the Avs would go for 7-years for that much.
