I think you have given Soup too little. I get the injury hurt his negotiating leverage, but he still sees $2.5 million. Especially since Engvall got $1.25 million.

You have undersold Kappy imo. Don't mind the Jost pick up, but you get more than Jost in that package. A mid round draft choice at least, or you could expand the deal and make a play for Timmins. Options there.

Not a fan of the Manson deal, mainly beacuse I don't see Manson as a fit. AJ is obviously bait, but I think something just as constructive can be done without moving another 1st.

I do like that 4th unit a lot. Has size and can skate rather well. Simmons you just might get at $1.5 million, but that's splitting hairs.

Agree and disagree. Likely Mikheyev gets more because of the KHL piece. That's why Zaitsev got his big contract was because he threatened to return to Russia, Leafs had to pony up to keep him. Not sure I trade Kap either if the return is only Jost. I'd either look for a D prospect like you did, or a bigger improvement at 3C.

Manson is absolutely a fit on this team. He might be the best fit in the entire NHL because of his defensive presence and handedness. The Leafs can't trade that first due to the conditions on it, but this wouldn't be enough for Manson. If it were, the Leafs will laugh all the way to the bank.

Would never sign Simmonds. He's been a replacement level player this year and not worth the time. Mason Marchment can do that job for less, so could Korshkov or Agostino. Hard pass.
