I am not going to comment on the specifics of your deal, because I think your description outlines that this is just a rough sketch type of situation. I will say though that if the Leafs could acquire a pick and a 1st for Barrie, they should 100% do it. I think he'd be good on a team like Vegas, where they have the defensive systems, and defensive-minded defenders to support him in a way the Leafs cannot. As for Evan Bouchard, I think the Oilers are being extra cautious with him, because of what happened with JP, but they have Philip Broberg, and this is the year for them to do something significant. It may not be Kapanen, but I think Evan Bouchard is definitely in play, whether Oilers fan can accept that, or not, is a different story. Finally, Andreas Johnsson. In theory it'd be nice to see what his market value is, but you have to see his injury recovery through 100% first.

Looking back I feel this would be About right for Barrie. Realistically him in a sweat heart deal IMO the Defense version of Coleman who fetched an A grade prospect and a 1st I’d be interested to see what you feel his value is in the market compared to that?

Unfortunately, and for many different reasons, Tyson Barrie is not the defensive version of Blake Coleman. That said, I think once the rental market heats up, Barrie would be a commodity that some team would desire, even if cost a 1st plus something else. Leafs getting back in the first round of the 2020 draft is important.
