He's not quick. His speed looks decent but only once he's already moving. He's tall, I don't know if he's all that physical, He's not necessarily "big". He's skinny lanky. But he knows how to use his height in front of the net and his reach. He gets a lot of goals there because the other 17-20 year olds can't move him because they are like half his size and weigh like 160lbs.
There are highlights of him you can see what I mean. Problem is the competition he plays against isn't either A. big or B. overly fast. Which is true with most people coming out of the CHL. It's not like europe where they can play in the adult leagues and the competition is a little more filled out and grown.
But he doesn't have that quick short burst from what scouts have said and I think that's evident on the highlight reels. If he's not already moving he's not going anywhere with any kind of speed.
I think his big thing is he's years away. He will have to gain weight. He does not have what looks like an NHL frame. The more weight he gets, the slower he probably gets too. So you won't know what you got in him for another 2 years or so. Because he can't come in at 200 lbs being 6'6. He's got another 20lbs to gain.
He reminds me of Pavlychev a few years ago. Tall and lanky. After 2 years he's not 225-230lbs at 6'7 6'8 depending who lists him.
I think that's where he has to get. Similar in a lot of ways. Tall, long stride. Good skaters for their size. Have some straight line speed. But they aren't quick.
He probably has a bit more upside than Pav, but I think Pav is the more physical player. Helps he's got 30lbs and a few years on him though.
He is a good player don't get me wrong but he's not that guy, yet.

Thank you for the information. I’m going to watch some highlights on him. I remember him looking great in preseason nhl but that hardly matters bc it’s not actual good nhl level competition

Pot and kettle. It’s cool you fan base glorifies Domi but I’m hardly willing to overpay when there’s better options out there for cheaper.one of the Top center prospect in the Whl and a 2nd would get more elsewhere

nvm. forget the 2 previous comment I wrote. I didn't know Alexei Protas was that good in the WHL. I really thought you were just putting a bunch of random players including Panik just troll and say the "all Habs fans overvalued their players" or "Habs fans think let's say Jeff Petry is worth the Sun and Moon". Although I gotta add the fact that just because some delusional Habs fans are overstating the value of Drouin/Price, doesn't mean the the ENTIRE fanbase overstates the value of players like Tatar, Petry, Lindgren, Caufield, Alzner, Gallagher.
