Honestly, since you guys already have the Sharks 1st rounder which is also gonna be near the bottom of the league, there shouldnt be too much urgency to trade Pageau, if any. Keep him. Re-sign him. Let him develop the culture in Ottawa. You guys are already getting 2 top 10 picks that having Pageau come back and be a mentor is more important than adding a mid 20s pick.

Price might be high on Dallas, don’t see Phil sending Gostibere somewhere with a draft pick for a return like that.

Philly and Edmonton reject. Anderson and Hainsey together wont get you a 2nd round pick or Gostisbehere individually let alone together. Vlad is probably going to net you a 3rd round pick.

I thought philly was scratching ghost and would just be happy shedding his contact... my thought process was having an experienced dman and goalie for a run might warrant a 2nd round pick... pick could be conditional on winning rounds...

You think puljujarvi is worth more than a 3rd round pick at this point?

Yes. He is still young, has top 6 potential and is having a hell of a season in Finland.

Hes not lol.

PHI rejects that easily. Take out the 2nd or take out Ghosty and the conversation at least happens.

So where should we put JPG in 2020 when we resign him? Tierney/Anisimov/White/JGP/Norris/Brown

What about the next year when we also have the Pinto + who we draft with the 2020 draft picks?

JGP is a great player. A great guy. But he doesnt fit OTTs long term

I agree with you that: JGP is a great player. A great guy.

It's nice that you listed all the centers in Sens' organization but Pageau is currently the best player of the bunch. You should be looking at Tierney/Anisimov/White/Norris/Brown/Pinto/the currently undrafted players to beat JGP out of his NHL job. You don't just give the guys a center ice position because they have potential, but if for some reason Pageau does get beat out, he can play wing, he can play up and down your line-up and contribute in multiple roles. You don't get rid of heart and soul players, especially for an organization that has a hard time in attracting free agents and in showing loyalty to their players.
