Panthers have reportedly explored the trade market for Matheson but haven't found any takers. If the Flames move Hanifin, Matheson could be a fit for the Flames. FLA has him playing forward so they must not be enamoured

That’s defs not enough I’m sure hanifin plus something will get trochek but not both matheson an trochek

They have him playing forward. They signed him to a massive deal that they have already tried to trade, but can't. I bet they want rid of Matheson anyway they can. FLA isn't typically a cap team either. That 4.8 from Matheson will be a big deal if they want to keep Hoffman this summer, and Huberdeau and Barkov down the road

He's played forward too recently. But yes Pysyk has played forward most of the season

Not sure how frequently, as I don’t watch much Panther hockey. I just recall hearing in the media he had a good game at forward a couple weeks back. Maybe he hasn’t played forward that much, I am just going off that and the rumours the Panthers would like to get out from his contract
