Description

Roslovic has made some strides this year, and I think he can make another jump next year. He's our best internal shot at a long-term 2C, and he should be tried there by the end of the season. I think with Connor and Wheeler as his wingers, he can be a 50-55 point type of player if all goes well.

For UFAs, DeMelo should be re-signed, and I think we take a run at Edmunson for a stopgap LHD option. He brings veteran physicality, plus hes a Manitoba boy so I'd like to imagine he'd be willing to sign here, especially with no room in Carolina due to Slavin-Skjei-Bean and more LHDs. Samberg will be ready to go in October, so with all signs pointing to him signing at the end of his NCAA season, we should be good. I'd think he'd even get some games in at the end of this season if we're not in a playoff position. Niku and Poolman will be fighting for that 3RD spot.

Heinola and Gustafsson all start with the Moose, though Vesa might as well if we just keep Perreault instead of trading him.

I thought Roslovic struggled as a C - isn't he looking more like a RW lock?

I'm still not content enough with this team. You have 6.7 M in cap space. We know Buf is done, so use it. This team is injury prone, there should definitely be some bottom 6 depth coming in - if nothing else, to patch the imminent holes

Really don’t like the Edmunson contract. Will have to sign Laine and Pionk before it’s up, and they could both get pretty big raises. Laine could get 8-10 and Pionk 5ish. I just see him getting passed on the depth chart within 1-2 years, and then we are paying almost 4M for a 3rd pairing dman. I’d like to sign him, but not at that contract.
