Making Noise In April

Description
In addition to this roster, I have the Rangers signing K'Andre Miller this offseason and starting him off in Hartford to develop. This year has shown while he is still a very good prospect, he is not fully NHL ready and some conditioning in the AHL (similar to what they did with McDonagh and Skjei) will do him good.
Additionally, I expect Lias Andersson to be back with the organization next year and fighting for a spot on the team. It will likely come down to Andersson and Kravtsov for the last spot. If Andersson gets it, he'll be the 4th line C and Howden will slide over to W

I think people consider this draft too stacked to give up an early draft pick. Some teams didn't even wanna give up a late one this year. But who knows?

Georgiev is 24...why trade him? Hank is done after this year. Georgi and Igor will be the best goalie tandem in the NHL for many years to come and you want to trade him for a draft pick? That's crazy. We have enough draft picks already. 3 first rounders and 19 picks in the next 2 years alone. The kid is a stud in goal and his next contract is cheap to boot. He and Igor can bring a Cup or maybe multiple Cups to the garden in the near future....why in Gods name trade that away?

You can never have enough first round picks. That's how contenders are built. We also have a good amount of goalie prospects that can fill the backup role for Igor or even a free agent can.

This is gold.
Hallelujah.
Trading Georgiev is bafoonery!
Think... 3-8yrs of cost controlled.
Possibility of pure dominance for 82 (+16/28😉) games.
Igor w45/60g. Alex w15/22g 😉
Oh ya, and that thing called cap.

If not the Minnesota pick then the pick that they got from Pittsburgh in the Zucker deal but they would likely have to throw in another pick (like a 3 or 4 in next year's draft).

I think Georgiev realizes that if he were to stay here, he's going to be the backup. Therefore even if we sign him this offseason, it won't be a crazy long term contract with a sizable (3-5M) cap it, it will be a bridge deal of 2 years that will take him directly to UFA status under 3M. At that point you lose him for nothing anyway. Rangers are not going to want to do a 3 goalie tandem for a full season. Lundqvist SHOULD NOT be bought out, that'd be a slap in the face to a legend, and he can still be an above average backup. Additionally, as was brought up by someone else, Rangers have ample goaltending prospects who could become the backup OR they can go the route the did with Hank and find guys like Raanta and Talbot.

What is wrong with having Alex on a 2-year bridge deal? Who knows what happens the next two years? He and Igor can battle it out. If he loses out and is back up for 2 years, so be it....you can trade him then after 2 years. And why not buy out Hank? It's not insulting to him sitting on the bench every game? It's a business decision. If he is bought out, he is free to sign anywhere he choses, and what is wrong with that? You don't think Hank would understand that? I'm sure he would, he is a business man. He knows his jersey will hang in MSG when he retires no matter what. Bottom line is you don't trade away your best young goalies just to keep an aging veteran happy during a rebuild. And if Hank was GM, he would tell you the same thing, because he is a very smart man.
