I encourage all hate comments and reserve the right to laugh at each and everyone of them.

Will never happen.
I do think we should take advantage of some cap strapped team this offseason and try to acquire one or both of Sergachev and DeAngelo. Our center depth is stacked with Kopitar, Turcotte, Vilardi, JAD, Lizotte, and Amadio which makes all other center prospects expendable. Kupari won't make the NHL for a long time and when he does he'll just be a bottom sixer IMO. Kings have 0 quality defensemen prospects other than Bjornfot and Clague. It would be a good idea to jump on someones RFA while we still can.

Why not try an offersheet Serg instead? Of try and make the Carter deal bigger and attempt to get Ghost back?

A bit of a gamble for Kubalik considering that might be a top 10 pick.

And play Ghost on the 3rd pair? I thought about it, but it doesn't make sense. I don't like the idea of offersheeting Serg because we have players like Thomas, Kupari, Madden, Grundstrom that we can afford to lose, meanwhile with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd we can stock up on better D prospects.

Well no Ghost would play top4 in my scenario. I was formatting it in that you go after only 1 of serg or ghost. With the Serg offersheet idk how much you realistically have to offer so that tampa doesn't match, just figured since they are strapped for cash you could pry him away if he were to accept. However, LA really does have a surplus of prospects up front so I see what you're saying. I'd say keep Madden and deal one of the others..he looks sick lol

Just because you trade for Sergachev and DeAngelo doesn't mean you can give them 8 years, It's still 7 years you'd needed to add them to the roster by the trade deadline to offer them 8 years.

Why would Philly want to take on Jeff Carter? There may have been some interest during the trade deadline to fill a void (unhealthy Patrick, maturing Frost), but going into next season I doubt there is much interest.

Gee I don't know what's better a dman that can't find his game and scratched quite a bit or a 20 goal scorer to replace the never healthy Nolan Patrick.....

I was not aware that rule extended to RFA's as well, so 7 years then...…..

Not so much taking on with the retention. Decent price for a guy who can give you 20. Especially if Nolan can't keep healthy
