First off i've never said that Trouba wouldn't sign with the Rangers, I said all along that the Rangers were among the front runners for him. Because his fiance is planning on becoming a Dr there in the near future. And seeing that the Rangers were pretty much the only team bidding on him. Yeah he got a lesser return that he should've.

Mainly to make RHD vs LHD more even. ADA while having a great season, is worth more to the rangers via trade since the rangers already have fox and trouba long term. They need to solve the issue at LHD where they don't really have a top 2 LHD. Lindgren has been great, but he's a 2nd pairing D. Yes they have Miller but he won't start as a top LHD.

I get that in terms of Kakko, but you have 3 1st round picks, two 2nd line players, a potential top line center (chytil when he fully develops, gotta say his bottom line is a top six forward), and a b- prospect in Reunanen. With Kakko's struggles this year, i think that package is better than just kakko (or what the rangers would take out if kakko is included)

If you're trying to be reasonable what about the trades? NYR has a better chance of getting the #1OA than getting those trades to go through.
