dumba trade i think the value makes sense and the pieces involved make sense but let me know.

tanev signing makes sense to overpay in terms of aav because of cap situation and for him to take in comparison to what he could get on a 4/5 year deal. will help brannstrom transition like he has with hughes and a stay at home guy and let brannstrom have more freedom.

Wolanin has to be in there, he’s a 2nd pairing guy, he’s heavily underrated. I think this team could possibly make the playoffs

Dumba does not make sense on Ottawa.

Why would we want a guy who is in his peak right now, in a position we are already developing well in, and who will need to be paid big bucks right when our new draft lottery picks want their big paychecks?

Let alone having to give up our top C prospect and a 2nd.

The value is fine, but its just not a good fit for Ottawa at all.

Beyond this, I would agree with everything except I would make Chabot the captain easily.

1. Brady is too rough around the edges. Chabot already has the respect of the players, coaches and officiants. The captain is supposed to be the representative with the referees. Brady will be in the box too much.

2. Chabot was the first one to sign long term on the worst team in the league

3. Chabot signed for a team friendly deal

4. Chabot is french Canadian. In Ottawa it is important.
