I don’t get the whole negative value on burns. Especially if we retain salary he in a Norris winner after all. But he wouldnt go to the rangers anyway.

It's all about his contract, he may be a good player now but he's still getting paid 8 mill per year until he's 40. That's a whammy for any team that trades for him

Just bc he was a Norris winner doesn't mean he's good now... Would you sign Lidstrom to an 8 million dollar deal and still expect him to be good rn...

Lidström won in 2011 and Burns won in 2017, big difference

Do I think this is realistic? Probably not, but it was more or less to show that Burns is tradeable and it would help the Sharks with their depth.
