That deal isn't terrible, but I prefer Bjorkstrand over Milano thanks.

To part with Johnny Hockey that 1st rounder would have to be a lottery winner (1st) and we would need the better prospect... Johnny is only in his 2nd year as a pro and is already a house hold name... Any team that gets him is not just getting a 30-40 goal scorer that's going to light up the NHL for years but a "SUPER STAR" that can draw in fans and help build the game in the local market... Especially with the kids... they love him!!!! The merchandise rights are worth almost as much as the on ice player... if not more!

The value of trade above is actually very good, as Atkinson is a 25 goal scorer (21, 22, 27) in the last 3 years. A 1st is always valuable but cannot control where it falls. I would suggest holding back Milano and offering Korpisalo or Forsberg since both are on a rapid rise (korpi posted very good numbers in his rookie year and forsberg carried Lake Erie to Calder cup last spring). Plus Calgary needs to find a young franchise goalie, jackets may have 2 in the stable now. Or send Bob in the deal with the 1st and a prospect.

Oh you CLB fanboys, Gaudreau is more valuable than any player currently on CLB's roster. That return is not enough to get a superstar player.

Tynan may be a good prospect in your system but isn't in the real NHL yet, he's still a nobody (In the value dept only I mean). Similar to Charles Hudon here in MTL. Go look at his stats and highlights, he barely can crack MTL's team and doesn't seem to have that much value either. This year is a do or die for him and many fans here in MTL (Myself including) rave about how good this kid is. If he was really that good he'd be in MTL already. There's a reason he's not. We need to remove our Habs glasses.

Calvert and Atkinson are 2 players you guys push like crazy but they are just not as valuable as you think. Stop looking at just stats! Here in MTL I could point to David Desharnais who has been a repeat 40-60 Pt guy yet nobody in the NHL would touch him with a 10 foot pole. Believe what you want but its the truth. Not saying they aren't "good". I would gladly take them on my team but they aren't what you claim them to be. Atkinson is a one dimensional player. He's a finisher. Put him with good players to feed him passes and he'll finish. Calvert is a solid 3rd line energetic/agitating forward but he also makes 2.2M when there are players who are bigger and can score just as much in free agency if needed. At least Calvert can play physical a bit and drop them if necessary but is less talented than Atkinson. Either way both guys are small and one dimensional. Not a good mix for a return to get a guy who has put up ridiculous numbers but also drives the play. Gaudreau is a younger Patrick Kane. The similarities are scary.

Milano is a good prospect and the 1st rounder needs to be high, like top 5 for this to start making sense for Calgary but even then for this to make sense for them realistically, Pierre Luc Dubois has to be in the mix. That is the only prospect i could see CGY really wanting if they are going to be trading they're best player.

More is not always better. The better the player you're trying to acquire, the better the quality of the return and less quantity is needed. Five B prospects doesn't equal 1 A prospect.

Look, this strictly just for fun. But this trade is on the high side of what they could get. Teams are not going to offer the farm for players anymore. Gaudreau is very good, but not worth the destruction of a team. They might be able to squeeze another prospect out of it, but no more.
