What? All of those teams are either bad or historically non-palatable to free agents (or in the case of Ottawa, both)

Where do you think he goes?

I think he stays here. If he follows strictly money I could see him going to Anaheim maybe. I really don't know that there's too many logical landing spots other than Toronto, his hometown, who always needs RHD. But Chris Johnston reported a few days ago that he didn't have much interest in going home.

I think he's waiting so long as a negotiating tactic, trying to get the Blues to give him more money. It's what I would do, if I was an elite hockey player (which I most certainly am not)

Winnipeg and Buffalo have the money but usually free agents don't want to go there. New Jersey isn't really close to contending. Ottawa operates on a shoestring budget and is in general a pretty poorly run organization. The Islanders maybe? Calgary maybe? Idk though, I don't think he can get anything there he can't get here.

Ah yes, 17 points in 45 games (a decline in what he had last year) is historically the marker of a future "stud" forward. He's a third liner, probably, unless he develops a ton more.

The Faulk trade was fine. If we hadn't given him the extension no one would be talking about it.

The top goal scorer at the WJC's wink A true stud. If he continues to develop like he has been when **playing against people his own age** he's going to be a stud. You took a major L in that trade. smile

We really did not

First of all he wasn't the leading scorer there, that was Samuel. Bokk was also an even player at the WJC, so idk if his six goals are much to brag about if six went in his net while was on the ice.

Secondly, while he was good at WJC there are plenty of WJC players who were great there and then not great anywhere else.

Thirdly, he wasn't cracking this lineup. We have too many forwards who are already good to waste time on one that may or may not be.

He might be good for the Canes. I hope he is! You could use some forwards. But as far as a major L...no not really

Faulk did QB our power play for awhile this year, and he was bad at it. We put Parayko back on there and our PP2 improved.

If Pietrangelo wants the Josi deal I would do that in a heartbeat. Pietrangelo's long term projections are much more favorable that Josi's

The thing that sucks about Faulk is that he could be good and just isn’t. There’s a lot of stuff that he does that I kinda like, for example he’s a bit of a beast in board battles, he can carry and pass out of the zone, and obviously the powerplay has been his bread and butter in the past. The thing is, the guy has absolutely zero offensive instincts whatsoever. Doesn’t know when to pinch, doesn’t know where to go, shoots way too much, etc. He gets okay defensive results and is usually a positive possession player, but he still bleeds goals against because his stick work and gaps are really bad. It’s just so frustrating seeing those tools go to waste.

That being said, he’s still a better player than Edmundson who may be the worst defenseman I’ve seen consistently play for Saint Louis.

Agreed. And like, maybe he gets better, I really hope he does, for our sake, with some coaching and time in a system that (maybe not anymore, but at least for most of the time he was there) is better than what he had with the Canes. Maybe that's what the Blues saw in him. But I don't know many players who, even if they do try to change, have great success changing how they play when they're 27 and have already secured the bag.

Oh no, he’s not magically going to gain instincts at 27, but I think the Blues could probably make him look decent enough to be traded or taken in expansion. He’s historically a good powerplay guy and if they spoon feed him pp1 minutes he could probably get up to about the ~40 point plateau and that’s probably pretty appealing.

Yeah, but then the question becomes do you sacrifice Pietrangelo if he's still here or Parayko (or a forward) being on the PP in order to spoon feed Faulk the time and the points? It's going to be tough to justify that if our power play dips again

They probably should’ve done that this year tbh. Mute pietrangelo’s production and keep aav low by having a slight downgrade steal his pp points.

Bokk, if he continues to develop like he has been, could be a top 6 forward for many years to come. No team has too many forwards to turn down another top 6 guy, even if it's just to free up someone else to use as trade bait. If he becomes that. like he's on track to, it's a major, undeniable L.

Dude we're talking about the opposite of facts.

You think that Bokk is going to be great, I don't. Those are literally opinions.

The only fact that's been discussed is whether or not Bokk was the leading scorer of WJC, which he wasn't, and you claimed he was. Not sure I'm the one who has a problem with facts here
