No Markstrom thats bold. Demko looks no where near ready to be a starter and georgiev is more of a backup then a starter. Could work but its a risk I dont see the canucks making

I don't think anyone is saying anything different and he is very good. More than Likely Markstrom stays in Vancouver and then they have Demko and DiPietro they really don't need another goalie.

Gaudette only gets $1M? He put up a 0.59PPG and was a strong part of the Canucks deadly powerplay?

van is going to be so tight against the cap gaudette to is going to have no choice but to sign a cheap 1 year deal. he isn't arb eligible. happens every season. he also only had 1 decent season. the right move is to sign him long term but they won't be able to.

makes sense. if the cap doesn't go up and they aren't given a cbo van is really in a tight spot. markstrom is really good but do you wanna pay him over 7 mill a season? there are a few teams that can take a run at him if he goes to ufa.

VAN is not making that trade. Demko is not ready to be a full time starter.

i meant to put georgiev as the starter but forgot to move him up in the lineup. georgiev is ready. looking at the cap van is going to have to choose btwn signing a RD or their goalie. there are a handful of very good goalies that they can control cap wise. georgiev is someone they should target if they can't re-sign Markstrom.

van also needs another top 6 player, they don't have any prospects coming up and lack the cap space to sign anyone.

The Canucks have patiently developed Markstrom to be their number 1 they are not going to just let him leave. He is there first priority before anything else. What makes you think signing another goalie will come cheap? Demko has 37 games in his career I don't think he is ready to hold a number 1 role and the workload.

i just said georgiev would be their #1 goalie. or at least both could share until someone proves themselves. signing georgiev to a 1 year 2 mill deal is cheap for what he will give the team. my post is a hypothetically incase they aren't able to re-sign Markstrom. in van position it isn't going to be easy. he could get over 7 mill a season as a ufa. if there isn't a cbo and/or the cap doesn't raise they are really screwed. the team has several small but hard to move bad contracts.
