Flat Cap w Hall 1yr Deal

Created by: ON3M4N
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 17, 2020
Published: Apr. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Based on a discussion in another ACGM about Hall and Boston. 100% based on Hall taking a 1yr deal due to a flat cap (although I think odds are slim he would do it and/or someone maybe willing to pay more on a 1yr deal).

Hall would get a chance to play with Krejci who is a high-end playmaker and ranks 24th in A/GP over the last 3 years (min 100GP) among all centers (per hockey reference). Would also give Hall a shot at winning a cup while also potentially having a big offensive year and boosting his value for when the cap were to increase again.

Cap is insanely tight and I'm sure some will disagree with Moore being worth a 5th, but IF Boston wanted to move Moore they have the means to do it. Signing are based on my previous ACGM expect I didn't sign Ryan Miller in this one for the extra cap space.

Again highly unlikely, but I think with a flat cap next year it may change how teams, players/agents approach FA this year.

Feel free to blast away at why its a stupid or why John Moore isn't worth a 5th.

I could definitely see Hall signing a one year deal with a contending team considering he didn't really have the best year. Not sure what the salary would be but if I was Taylor I'd definitely consider it

in all seriousness. ide rather let chara go dudes so old and slow its hindering mcavoys development offensively, and i also think we have better odds of seeing vladar over lagace. I dont think he comes here though.

    Good post.
May see this type of scenario for a few players with Hall likely being the most coveted?
As mentioned by a few guys yesterday, the UFA's may not have as much leverage this coming year w/ COVID but there are 3 good ones still in Hall, Petro and Holtby that could chase a Cup, and be team friendly for 1-year with the top clubs.

Lol when you said this I was going to do it, but you did it spot on,.

Its just missing Kevan Miller who was offered a deal and will likely be back with the bruins

I don't disagree on McAvoy/Chara, but I think you can help in game. Limit Clara's minutes and try and use McAvoy/Grz depending on game situation. Chara imo is still a very good PK weapon and a horse with Carlo on the PK.

Vladar I could see, but he took a big step this season. I think I'd rather he get more reps and then come up. Or if Legace struggles you waive him and bring up Vladar.

not gonna lie I had an idea for a trade to bring in Pamieri, but haven't done it to see how the cap would fit. May give it a try though and see if I can get it to work lol. I'd have to move 2-3 roster players, but Boston has a lot of young wingers to play with.

Interesting to is Legace as backup?
...over Vladar, Keyser, Swayman - looks like a solid/deep pool in net?

Re-hash edit of my Chara rant from yesterday (mmmmm hash!).

2019-20 Zee @ US$2M per year had 21min per nite and is #85 in min/per league-wide (that's squeezed between Kopitar and Makar on the list and is out of 883 total players who skated last year (as per NHL.com))...
    GP G A P +/-
    68 5 9 14 26

Solid NHL numbers...and he was that energizer bunny one Halloween a few years back!

They are young, but could certainly cut it. I have been saying you might just have to bring in a Talbot, Miller, or mike smith for like 1.5 to 2 million

I don't see Keyser or Swayman being NHL ready. Swayman is just making the jump to pro and Keyser was hurt most of the year. Vladar had a great year, but is has shown consistency issues. I'd hate to have him as your only back-up option going into the season. Legace isn't much better, but he's got some NHL experience, was with the organization this year and would be cheap lol
