Tampa will probably use their CBO on Gourde, so maybe if you like him you can pick him up for free

The real question is: would he waive to come to Buffalo if Buffalo threw a mid-round draft pick at Tampa? How much, if at all, would he want out? I suspect he'd rather take the buyout and go sign at a destination of his choosing (not Buffalo).
Copenhagen liked this.

if he wants a fresh start he may welcome it because its highly unlikely there are buyouts.

buffalo isn't some outpost in the nhl wilderness. the combine is there, world juniors is here often, while the team has sucked, the facilities are world class at HarborCenter and the organization is tied in with the league and USA Hockey.

Why would Tampa deal Gourde for Ristolainen? Risto makes about $100,000 more then Gourde. Risto is a luxury that Tampa can't afford. And Tampa easily declines.

And Tampa says no as well, Seeing that Ristolainen makes $100,000 more then Gourde. BriseBois moves him for picks only not a RHD that they don't need.

Yeah you’re probably right...I’m just so sick of Risto being treated as a 1st pair Dman that I’d be willing to take a shot on a young guy.... but I probably should have put more stock into the comparable salaries...

I figure TB may move more pieces like T Johnson or Killorn but I definitely missed the comparable salaries. Had I seen that I probably wouldn’t of went with that deal...how is Gourde making that much already??

Sure if T Johnson is willing to waive which i doubt he is he loves it here in Tampa. Killorn will be an easy move with his 20 team trade list and all. And Gourde was just another Yzerman overpayment. He's clearly been sliding this season relegated to the 3rd line. Julien Brisebois definitely has his work cut for himself this coming summer that's for sure. One would think that Cernak, Cirelli and Sergachev minimally come in at a combined $12 million that's $5 million each for Cirelli and Sergachev and $2 million for Cernak wont be easy to move players out with all of the full NTCs and all.
