    Let's do a comparison:

Player A is 26 years old, and since 2016-2017 has played in 291 games, scored 138 points, for a .47PPG average.
Player B is 25 years old, and since 2016-2017 has played in 199 games, scored 119 points, for a .60PPG average.
Player C is 24 years old, and since 2016-2017 has played in 249 games, scored 150 points, for a .60PPG average.

Player A is Tom Wilson, he of the 6 year, 5.166m/year contract, 6.5% cap hit
Player B is Tyler Bertuzzi, who you just gave a 3 year, 4.5mm/year contract to, which is a 5.5% cap hit.
Player C is Nick Schmaltz, he of the 7 year, 5.85m/year contract, 7.36% cap hit

Can we please stop underpaying people?!? Tyler is going to end up signing a 5-6year, 5.5m/year contract (about 6.7% cap hit)

Bertuzzi will get a 5-6 year deal @ 5.5m easily Mantha gets the Kreider deal 7 years @ 6.5m There's no way Bertuzzi would take that deal he's a bonafide 50-60 point winger and that's what they get.

This hypothetical team still has $11M.. there is no problem giving Bertuzzi more $.

You aren’t the first to “under” pay Bertuzzi, but you are the first that didn’t say “He’s not worth $x.xx per year!”. Hence my response with the numbers.

All good! If the Red Wings are ready to commit to him for 5-6 years, they definitely have the cap space for it.
