I can understand the deal theoretically but GM's do have to factor in season tickets and fan base overall. Florida can't really afford to rebuild without Barkov. I understand Bob puts them in a really bad bind but that's a risk they took and losing their fans by doubling down on a mistake won't get them back faster. I would shop Ekblad before Barkov. It's possible Ekblad lost his trade value but I'd at least start there.
