No way Detroit deals Mantha for Kyle freaking Palmieri is this just plain laughable a 25 year old for a 29 year old give your head a shake here man.

Problem is Palmieri is a UFA who walks at the end of next year and 1st round pick will not be ready to play in NHL for 3 years at best.

DET is a rebuilding team. They want to be a powerhouse in 3 years. Nothing immediate. Then they flip Palmieri for prospects or picks or both.

Wings are set back by trading 25 year old for a player who will not bring back player of the player they traded.
