no you can't lol ellis was almost in Norris conversations this year. Not saying he would have won it or even been a finalist, but he would have been top 10 in Norris voting for sure.

Ellis is one of the best 2 way defenseman in the league.

Marner = 5th/6th best RW in the league.

Age, injuries, concussion history, length of a contract, possibility of one player to not finish that contract opposite to the other etc..

Dude, did you hear the leak on Reddit? Marner’s contract negotiation antics disgusted the GMs throughout the league & no one wants him. He doesn’t have very high value. I think Nylander for Ellis is fair, Nylander has a ridiculous GAR & xGAR.

You are right but it’s just unfortunate that Marner’s big salary costed the Leafs the opportunity to keep Brown. Now Johnsson & Dermott are probably gone too.

but those are all players that come and go. The next wave of prospects can fill their shoes. Mitch Marners don't come by quite as often

Yes absolutely. His contract isn’t the best but he’s still one of the top 5-6 wingers whose worth most of what he’s making.
