Base on historical trade this is actually pretty much on fair value. There been three trade involving the 8th overall pick and never in a deep draft like this year. In those trade the team that moved up was moving from 4 to 7th spot and was also giving a high second round pick ( all mid thirty’s pick or 2 second round pick. A long with a third round pick). New jersey ask to move up and don’t have any second round pick so they need to give away their other first round pick and receive a early second round pick to compensate in a very deep draft. Montreal could gave away some later pick since they have a shat load but historically this trade would be on the money.

It all depend on the team calling and if they really want to move up they will and won’t bother that much on the return since they will get the players the want. Just like Brian Burke use to do in draft.

Anaheim, Buffalo, New Jersey , Chicago have already depth on the left side so they won’t pick him that leave Los Angeles who speak before Montreal.
