Confirmed Botterill and Draft info

Created by: gerowrj16
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2020
Published: May 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Basically.....

- If teams 1-7 get all 1-3 picks, phase 2 will not happen
- If teams 8-15 get at least one pick in top 3, only teams 8-15 have another lottery to determine who will get that pick
- So outcome is that the bottom 7 teams will find out what pick they will get in Phase 1 even if phase 2 happens
- BULL****, bottom 7 teams that didn't get top 3 pick should be involved in phase 2 lottery
- https://t.co/r8k29yYrDc?amp=1

Also...... quote from Kim Pegula that makes Sabres fanbase go nuts

“I realize, maybe it’s not popular with the fans, but we have to do the things that we feel are right, We have a little bit more information than maybe a fan does, some inner workings that we see some positives in.”

Yeah they probably do deserve it, Everyone of those teams played like dog **** at one point or another this year. And again thats why they have lower odds then the teams that didn't make it.

    No, they don’t “deserve” it
    Not under any circumstances

It was already stupid that a team could narrowly miss the playoffs & still pick in the top 3

Now a team that actually makes the playoffs has a shot?
    That’s bullsh!t, period

    Going forward:
I’d like to see it stay at 24 teams in the playoffs
Only teams that miss get a shot at the playoffs, and can only move up a max of 3 spots

And how about the other way around How is it fair for Pittsburgh to not make the playoffs because Price decided to get hot for 3 games. Pittsburgh is 15 points ahead of Montreal and deserve to be in the playoffs, especially after the injuries they faced this year.

The odds are exactly the same for the the bottom teams as every other draft year, to me it sounds like you are complaining about the lottery in general. It hasn't changed If you miss the playoffs (which is after the play-in round) you are in the lottery. The lottery is designed to prevent teams from tanking

    Pittsburgh is IN THE PLAYOFFS
If they win the best of 5, they move on
If they blow it, they get a pick between 8-15 instead of picking in the 20s

They’re on pace for 102pts this season
If they can’t beat MTL, that’s their fault
    They shouldn’t have a chance at a top3 pick
It’s absolutely STUPID for a team that was on pace for that many points to have a shot at it

Its kinda funny, you sound like the goal is to pick first overall every year and not win the cup.

Calling it the “play in round” is semantics
    It’s the Playoffs

And a team like Pitt getting a chance at a Top3 pick in NO WAY discourages tanking

No, i sound like a team who was on pace for 102 points should have no shot at a Top3 pick
It’s not that complicated a concept

It makes sense that bad teams get a better draft slot than good ones

PIT finished with the 7th best regular season record,
    25th draft slot
Just them moving to 15 would be bad enough...
yet you’re saying they should have a chance to pick Top3
    That’s mind numbingly dumb

Do you think Pittsburgh is going to throw the chance to win the cup for less then a 3% chance of drafting Lafreniere. First an 8-15 Team "x" has to win the lottery for first overall, then the play in round happens and the loosing teams then roll the dice again to try and get that lottery spot. That's really horrible odds.

    WHAT???
I didn’t say anything like that
    Go re-read

I’m saying the team who finished with the 7th best record in the league, on pace for over 102pts, shouldn’t have a shot to pick in the top3 NO MATTER WHAT

Ok and a team that finished last in their division, 9th last 8n rhe league should have no shot at the cup, what so ever

Wtf does Chicago getting in to the playoffs have to do with the lotto???
There’s ZERO correlation between the 2

And even if u wanted to pretend there was...
You don’t fix the mistake of letting in Chicago by making another one in giving good teams a chance to pick top3

    It’s just dumb, dumb, dumb

    Wow dude, you’re something else

    Wtf are u taking about?
Of course a team would rather win the Cup
That has nothing to do with whether or not a team like PIT should have a chance to pick top3

    Go home, you’re drunk
