Similar trades have been made on here probably 20 times and every single sharks fan says they wouldn't do it, but keep shoving that square peg into the round hole maybe it'll fit.

Taking on Turris is dumb as all f*ck with Okposo on the team

Its a very reasonable trade for Hertl. He is a nice 2nd line center, who has produced more than 46 points once in his 8 years since being drafted. He also is coming off an injury and will need a new contract in 2 years and San Jose has already tied up enough money in guys they signed at age 28-29 (Karlsson 11.5 million, burns 8 million, couture 8 million, vlasic 7 million and kane 7 million).

Its the #7 overall pick and adding a 2nd. You can complain all you want, and so can sharks fans, but its a very reasonable trade and there is reported interest in the player by buffalo.

Taking Turris is fine. Its almost cap neutral with Ristolainen for 2 years and then 2 years from now after the expansion draft there is one additional year where okposo and turris are both under contract.

Maybe take a deep breath and go outside for a few minutes to calm down.

i dont think Hertl waives but I would bet Couture does. Hes still got 3-4 good years left in him and is a warrior.

It would just be nice to see one logical ACGM out of you for both sides. Since you post one literally every single day and then take **** from opposing fans and still argue your point relentlessly.

I am very interested in Couture, but not for #7. He is 4-5 years older than hertl and makes 2.5 million plus more (I know hertl will need more money soon)

hertl does have a restrictive no trade list, but i wonder when exactly it kicks in. (usually those are july 1, post draft, but who knows now.

It is logical. Despite you being a prick, I still responded with my rationale. My posts are not littered with people just taking shots at me. Plenty of non sabres fans agree with many of my trades.

Wouldn't you rather get a skater for Montour instead of picks? I know Sabres are still filling the prospect cupboards but if this is a make or break year, you could get a really solid middle six forward for him I think

I agree, not a Sabres or Sharks fan and I honestly think that they're overpaying for Hertl. He's good and all but 7th overall for a team that couldn't even make 24 team playoffs AND doesn't even have their own 1st rounder, seems like a pretty sweet deal to do a quick retool

Who do I take out of the middle 6 for this skater i get for him and where do I find the cap space? I moved him after the other moves because I needed cap space. I could see an Alex Tuch or Jake Virtinen scenario, but it didn't work out for me here.

I think the Turris trade is important. Buffalo has had horrible center depth for over 10 years. Yes he makes a bit too much, but Eichel, Hertl, Turris, Larsson would be among the better center spines in the league.

Maybe find a cheaper 3LD option than Hutton and you'd have about 3M to work with. Just a thought but I agree, this moves the needle for Buffalo, from a bottom third team at centre to around top third. Huge improvement

Why would Detroit want Pilut? Detroit's not trading Svechnikov for Pilut. Yzerman will give him one year to see what he has. If Svechnikov is dealt it's probably to Carolina to be with his brother.

because your left side is barren and svechnikov hasn't panned out. this type of trade happens 15 times every offseason.

Pilut was buried last year due to our GM refusing to move NHL defensemen off his roster and Pilut was waiver exempt.

Sharks fans will probably hate me for this but I think they should look to retool. Is there any logic around Couture + like Sorensen (depth winger that can pk) for #7 + Okposo + Johnson/Mittelstadt

Okposo has 3 years left (if it 2 it seems like an easy choice but 3 hurts) and that should give enough time for Rossi/Perfetti to develop. Burns has probably aged out by this point but Karlsson should still have 3-4 solid years left. Also his buy out isnt as bad after next year.

they should absolutely retool.

i would consider a top 10 protected 2021 for couture

I dont think SJ would do that, my offer seemed fair since they are eating all of Okposo and Buffalo needs the cap space for Joker and Dahlin next year. This would allow you to run a top 6 of Olofsson, Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner, Couture, Cozens/Kahun
