Oilers don't have the desire or the cap space for a trade like that. They signed their stars properly in both term and AAV.

When you already have two of the best players in the world on your team at reasonable salaries and max terms, you don't rock the boat.

The only way 97 moves is if he demands a trade or reaches UFA status. End of story.

If McDavid ever gets traded it won’t be for that kind of package. Besides the Oilers Lose in the trade you posted.
