Great questions. That Eriksson contract is so terrible that I'm sure Van has limited options. Admittedly I don't know much about the Canucks' prospect pool. But the Sens are stacked with prospects and might prefer a pick they can flip. What do you think?

I guess for the Canucks the most you can hope for is someone in the Senator's organization really liking one of our prospects. I wanted to use Madden as a sweetener to clear up cap space, but he was dealt in the Toffoli deal. I'd rather wait a year and move the Eriksson contract with one year on it and add a 2nd + a prospect rather than move it now with a 1st.

I'll be really interested to see how TB manages Cirelli and Sergachev in the offseason. Both key pieces to their future, but they are so far against the cap. I can see them trying to ship Gourde, Johnson and/or Killorn to open up cash to resign those two players, but am hopeful that a team (preferably Ottawa) finds a way to get in on the bidding for their services. With comparisons to Bergeron, Cirelli really intrigues me and he'd be a perfect fit in Ottawa.

Some creative work here. I was looking at all of the contracts TBay would need to move and holey Geebus those NTC and NMC's are going to cause some pain. But Yzerman was the wonder GM smile He "bolted" just in time...
